Clauses 59 to 61: promos and how you get one
Clause 59 makes the terms apply the moment you place a promo bet, enter a promo code, or "place a bet using a Bonus Bet". Clause 60.1 defines an Eligible Participant: an Australian resident, at least 18, with an account, "a Recreational Gambler", not an "Excluded Customer", and permitted by state law to take part.1
Clause 61.1 lists four routes to a benefit: a Promo Bet whose result matches the criteria, a Promo Deposit with a code, a Competition prize, or a direct Allocation. 61.4 is the cancellation rule with four worked cases: a cancelled or refunded bet can't satisfy a promo that needed a win or a loss, a bet type, a three-leg multi, or a leg in a named market. 61.5 is rounding: "The value of the Promo Benefit will always be a whole dollar amount … rounded down", so 50% of a $75 stake is $37 and 25% of $103 winnings is $25.1
Clauses 62 to 64: defaults, fair play, states
62.2: unless the promo says otherwise, the Promo Bet "must be a single bet, (multi and Super Multi bets are not valid Promo Bets)" and "cannot be an each way bet". 62.4: one benefit per promo, for the first qualifying bet. 62.6: allocation "within 2 business days". 62.7: a promo code can't be combined with any other offer. 62.8: "A Promo can be cancelled at any time at our discretion."1
63.1, fair play: a benefit may be refused or cancelled where the same code is entered on multiple accounts in one name, from one device or IP address, in one household, or sharing a card, email or phone. 63.2: "Promo Benefits are intended for use by Recreational Gamblers only", and TAB can refuse or remove one on "a reasonable belief" you aren't one; 63.3 gives 14 days to request a review by someone other than the original decision-maker. 64.1: residents of "NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and/or Western Australia" may be ineligible for a promo.1
TAB's numbered clauses are the most complete of the three; Sportsbet's single document is the quickest to read. The comparison shows where each is plainer.

Clauses 65 to 68: bonus bets
65.1 to 65.4: a bonus bet is a token that may be split into up to five, provided the original is at least $2, the parts are equal, "each resulting Bonus Bet is a multiple of $0.50", and the smallest part is $1. The example: a $120 token into five $24, four $30, three $40 or two $60.1
66: one bet of value equal to the stake (66.2); use may be restricted to a bet type, event or channel (66.3); "All Bonus Bets are subject to Stake Return (see clause 70)" (66.4); not with any other offer (66.8); "not transferable or redeemable for cash" (66.9); no loyalty points (66.11). 67.1: expiry is the promo's date or 7 days after receipt, or the day the account closes for any reason; split tokens keep the original expiry (67.3). 68: tokens appear in the Bet Builder on tab.com.au and the apps, and only the ones applicable to that bet type and channel.1

The My Offers tokens
The My Offers Bonus Bet T&Cs list every token TAB might put in your Available Token List, each with the same shape: available once per person per race or bet, minimum field or price requirements, a bonus bet "capped at stake up to a designated amount specific to individual customers", and the exclusion line "No multi, bonus, cash out, partial cash out or live bets qualify. Bets placed with Multiplier are ineligible."2 The types: Same Race Multi Saver and Boost, Race Saver 2nd/3rd (which also pays on 4th), Reload, Win Plus Stake Back, Race Boost (capped at a $100 stake, rounded to the nearest $1), Trifecta Get 2 out of 3, Quaddie Saver, Exotics Boost, and Multi Saver and Multi Boost for thoroughbreds and greyhounds (legs at $1.10, combined $1.50). The stake back page works several of them.
From the FAQs: where they add to the T&Cs
Deposit method (FAQ 14). "Only deposits made online using your debit card make you eligible for deposit-related bonus bet offers. If you make cash or BPAY deposits, you won't receive the offers."3
Excluded bets (FAQ 10). The full list in the fact table; the give-away is the missing Bonus Bet button in the slip.
Channels (FAQ 17). "A bonus bet cannot be used over the Phone (Operator), IVR or In-store."
Timing (FAQ 18). "The bonus bet will be allocated to you within an hour if not immediately."
Scratchings (FAQ 16). The token "should automatically be returned"; if not, customer service on 131 802 can reinstate it within 72 hours.
Cash out (FAQ 19). Not on a bet placed with a bonus bet.
The disagreement. FAQ 3 says split parts can be "no less than 50c"; clause 65.4 says the smallest part is $1. The T&Cs say they prevail in a conflict, so a $2 token splits into two $1 parts and no further.1
TAB's terms weighed up
Where the terms are good
- Numbered clauses covering every step from eligibility to expiry.
- A 14-day review right if you're ruled not recreational.
- Every token type listed with its exclusions in one document.
- Rounding and splitting rules come with examples.
Where they cost
- The longest excluded-bet list of the three.
- Rounding is always down.
- FAQ and T&Cs disagree on the minimum split.
- No cash out on bonus bets; no loyalty points; turnover not explained in the promo section.
My verdict
TAB's terms are the most complete of the three and the most restrictive on bet types. Read FAQ 10 before you assume a token will work on a bet, deposit by online debit card if the offer is deposit-linked, and don't plan on cashing out a bonus bet. The review right in clause 63.3 is something neither of the others prints. On a $50 token the arithmetic is the same as everywhere: $50 at $2.00 credits $50. The comparison puts Sportsbet and PointsBet beside it.
Questions punters ask
How do TAB bonus bets pay out?
Profit only. FAQ 15: a $10 bonus bet at $2.00 pays $20, of which $10 is returned to TAB and $10 is credited to your balance.
How long do TAB bonus bets last?
Most are valid for 7 days from the day they appear (FAQ 13); clause 67.1 sets the expiry as the promo's date or, if none, 7 days after receipt. The valid-until date sits under the token on the Bonus Bets screen.
Can I split a TAB bonus bet?
Tokens of $2 or more, into two, three, four or five equal parts. The FAQ says each part must be at least 50 cents; clause 65.4 of the T&Cs says $1 and that each part must be a multiple of 50 cents. The T&Cs prevail.
Can I cash out a TAB bonus bet?
No. FAQ 19: you cannot cash out a bet that was placed using a bonus bet.
What bet types are excluded from TAB bonus bets?
Live bets, win or place bets with multiple selections on the website, each-way, parlay formula, mystery products, NRL and AFL FootyTAB, non-flexi exotics, Trackside, non-flexi system multis, and bets with the Multiplier or The Lock applied (FAQ 10).
Which states are excluded from TAB promos?
Clause 64 says residents of NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and/or Western Australia may be ineligible; each promo's own terms say which.
Do TAB bonus bets earn loyalty points?
No. Clause 66.11: bets placed using a bonus bet don't accrue loyalty points.
